Preston North End has fired head coach Paul Heckingbottom. The club announced his exit on Sunday. Preston is currently in the bottom three of the Championship after losing six of its first seven games this campaign. Heckingbottom was brought in at Preston last year. He had previously managed Sheffield United. The side will turn to a Premier League cult hero as caretaker boss. The decision stems from a difficult beginning to the season.
