Newt Gingrich commented on the recent midterm election as healthy for the United States. He cautioned that Democrats may struggle in 2028 if they pursue a hard-left agenda without working alongside President Trump. He highlighted that party cohesion and practical strategies will matter more than speculative narratives. Gingrich also stated that the 2028 Republican presidential contest may not be as wide open as many predict, downplaying the impact of the midterm losses on the GOP field. The race’s openness will depend on candidate filing deadlines and voter turnout, he said.
