Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli came back to the U.S. on Wednesday. They ended tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa went back to their Japan post after missions tied to the Iran situation. The Tripoli pulled in at its home port in Okinawa, closing out its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force wrapped up joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit rescued a week-old seal pup that had been left alone.
