Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticized Petco for alleged poor treatment of birds. The actor, known for her love of parrots, accused the retailer of sourcing birds from breeders who kept them in small and dirty enclosures. Dench called for an end to bird sales at Petco, citing PETA's exposure of unethical breeding practices. The criticism comes as Dench has been vocal about her fondness for parrots and the humane treatment of animals.
