FDNY fire marshals are currently investigating a suspicious fire that needed three alarms. It swept through a blocks-long scrapyard in Staten Island. The location was at Rector Street and Castleton Avenue. Dramatic videos were posted online, capturing flames and smoke rising high above the site.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out at an auto body repair shop in Staten Island. Fire marshals have not stated whether these two incidents are connected. No further details have been released as yet.
